BP: 102/70
Toodle HB: 156
Weight: -2-3 lbs (over the course of the pregnancy, not since last appt). OB isn't happy about it but I'm working on it - Maggiano's is pretty much the only thing that sounds good so we're ordering it again tonight with 2 appetizers in hopes of getting me to "fighting weight".
Strangely uneventful appointment. Back in a week.
The announcement was made to my practice group today that I'm going to be on leave starting the week after next. Because the announcement was made before my appointment I was certain there would be no heartbeat today. To each person with whom I've had to discuss my leave I try to work in a "if I'm still pregnant next week," because I'm psycho like that. People at work are, as usual, amazingly supportive, happy to hear we're expecting again and completely in favor of my doing anything we need to keep this one in a while. Even though I'm sure that by the time my childbearing days are behind me I'll have lost at least a couple years on my partnership track I really can't imagine working anywhere else. Several people asked if I'd started making a long reading list - I have ordered quite a few books from Amazon, but I didn't mention that I presume 95% of my time will be spent watching Tyra, Friends and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I'm not looking forward to the bedrest but I would do this the rest of my life if it meant a live baby.

I am thinking of you Kathy! Glad it was good news today! Is there anything we can do to entertain you?
I'm glad your appt went well today. I'm sorry you feel such worry, rightfully so. I hope your next 22 appts are uneventful as well.
Glad you had an uneventful appointment, hope you have a really boring bed rest and pregnancy.
I don't know you, but we are just about 'tied' in our pregnancy weeks right now. I am following along faithfully and wishing you and your husband all the best!
I don't know you, but we are just about 'tied' in our pregnancy weeks so far. I'm following along faithfully and wishing you and your husband all the best!!
Glad the appt went well! Have you kept up with the knitting? maybe you can do a blanket for the baby? my baby blanket was knitted for me and I treasure til this day!
Gonna be a girl I tell ya.....
SO glad you will be off soon - I too wonder how many years I will have off of the partnership track - that is if I can ever stay pregnant longer than 5 minutes....
At any rate, glad to hear Toodle is doing well.
I just read a really cute, snarky series by Carrie Vaughn - the Kitty series. Kitty is a werewolf with a radio talk show - it was really fun reading! I also loved the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. Kim Harrison and her witch series is really good too...good grief, I sound like some sort of sci-fi wacko...
That sounds like a delightful appointment and work scenario. I am so glad your colleagues are supportive. "Entourage" is my total guilty pleasure while recuperating.
Hooray! SOOOO pleased that everything went well. :)
Glad to hear everything went well!
May I recommend Sex and the City marathon while you are off? A nice girly time when you can just sit back and laugh.
I would be happy to play online games with ya! or chat on yahoo...anything to help ya pass the time. I can't imagine how hard it is and am so glad to hear lil one is doing well.
Always wishing the best for you & Toodle! So glad everything went well at work and more importantly, with Toodle!
am so glad you got good news today!!! Toodle is doing so good!! Enjoy Tyra!

I am very superstitious, too. I was certain that when I made photo cards with our Lil Pumpkin's referral photos it meant the adoption would not go through. And then when we had the baby shower I was again certain something awful would happen. When that huge Chinese earthquake occurred I frickin' puked mid-day, and I wasn't even pregnant (turned out it was a goo 500 miles from her, but like I knew Chinese geography?!) My point is that I totally get the superstition, the jinxing, the each acknowledging step meaning impending doom.
And I am glad you are honest about watching Tyra. I am not ashamed to admit to watching American's Next Top Model - oh heck, the entire WB (or whatever they are calling that network) lineup, LOL!
Uneventful is good. I'm sure it's hard not to worry though; it's only natural. Let's make the next big event you delivering a full-term, healthy, beautiful Toodles!
I'm glad that your appointment went well. I own all 10 seasons of Friends if you'd like to borrow them. :o)
Glad to hear your appointment went so well! Hope your bed rest is uneventful and boring, but at least it gives you a good reason to get a long lasting pedicure and sleep in as long as you like.
Yay! So glad to hear that all is well with baby!
If you've not seen the show How I Met Your Mother, I highly recomend it! In fact, I have seasons 1 & 2 and would be happy to loan them to you.
You blood pressure and the baby's heart beat sound wonderful. I have been and will continue to pray for you hun!
So glad your appointment went well. Yay for uneventful!
Yeah for good news and Double yeah for cable and funny movies!
I like uneventful. My friend taught herself a language in between tv on her 2nd 7month stint of bedrest.
Great news on the ultrasound. And lots of good luck with bedrest. Whatever it takes, baby! If you need any books to take your mind off things, the Twilight series takes a bit of time to go through, as well as the Sookie Stackhouse "Southern Vampire Mysteries". You can see I like vampire books. When my aunt was on bedrest she knitted a lot of blankets.
Glad to hear you are doing well, I totally agree with you, that I would stay in bed however long it took. Good luck to you!
Logistical questions here, but leave = no work? Will you have to take FMLA for that? If so, will you have much of a leave after baby comes?
Just wondering, for curiosity's sake. If you don't mind.
I think it's great that you work with such wonderful people. That's awesome!
And I know that the remaining 22 appointments will go as well as this one. Time to step up that eating!
Oh, and How I Met Your Mother is awesome! You should rent/borrow/buy that series (seasons 1-3 are out on DVD right now).
Glad the appointment went well - bring on the boring uneventful bed rest!
I don't think I posted before, but thought I would now. I don't know if it'll ease your mind at all but
I didn't gain any weight until the second half of my second trimester
(even then I only gained 18 lbs. for my total pregnancy)
I'm happy your Toodle is looking good.
glad things looked good at the appointment! I am at 25 weeks along now and I am JUST gaining weight!!! so no worries about weight stuff :)
So glad things are going well for you!! Try to relax and enjoy the bed rest as much as you can.
Hi! I'm such a lurker, but I just wanted to say congratulations and I'm glad to hear your appointment was uneventful. For bedrest I'd like to recommend The Wire if you haven't seen it before. Yes, its kinda dark and you may wake up with dreams of slinging drugs in West Baltimore but its an awesome distraction. Good luck with everything!!!
I am so glad it was good news today. you are in my prayers.
