"32 Weeks"

Usual disclaimer that I'm not quite at the aforementioned milestone yet, but will be in 2 days...

Stats:
Toodle: h/r in the 150s, estimated at 3lbs 14oz, 44-53%ile (ultrasound tech said one thing, doctor said another).
Placenta: No longer low. Planned induction (instead of c/s) following lung maturity amnio at 37 weeks.
Weight: Still +20 lbs...partly because I cheated and wore leggings instead of jeans.
BP: 110/70
Cervix: 4.2cm and closed (although I recently read that these measurements become less reliable as you get farther along so who knows).

In other words, things are kind of normal now. Who would have ever guessed? The doctor I saw today (head of the practice - I was scared before I saw her because there are reviews online where patients said she was unpleasant, et cetera, although she was very, very nice to me) actually said I could exercise, no more pelvic rest, only needed to come every 2 weeks - pretty much be normal. Being the paranoid person I am, of course I called to verify all of this with my slightly more conservative regular doctor who was a bit more restrictive, she said to still take it easy but some walking is now ok, and she still doesn't recommend intercourse and thinks I should keep my already scheduled weekly appointments, so not quite as carefree as the other doctor. But it's something. I may go to a store with DH this weekend!

I took my 32 week pics this past weekend because I had makeup on and my hair done for my friends' birthday dinner. So technically this is 31w3d, but since we're only doing belly pics every 4 weeks I figured a few days wasn't a big deal.

First the full body shot, even though it's harder to see the belly, because I think it's funny that I'm standing with my feet like 18 inches apart...apparently just my natural stance now.

Closer up...

The one bittersweet thing about these pictures is that I bought the dress to wear to the Doodles' baby shower last year - it still had the tags on until I wore it Saturday. I considered not wearing it, but that seemed silly - it's just a dress and doesn't really have anything to do with them. But it crossed my mind as I put it on.

Keeping fingers crossed that we can keep things going ok until delivery (and obviously, beyond). I'm still so scared, but these weekly doctor appointments and the reassurance they provide are certainly helping.

You look very beautiful in these pictures. Congratulations on making it this far. Glad to hear you get to be induced instead of having to have a planned C/S, but just know that C/S aren't as bad as people make them out to be. (I had one) :)

You look amazing in that dress! And it's nice to see that smile again.

Thinking of all five of you today.

Echloe said...

You look beautiful. And I'm so so glad that things appear normal now. You deserve to relax a little. But I'm glad your regular doctor wants you to still take it easy. What I'm getting at is that I'm glad you can put your mind at ease but also get to get out of the house a little.

And I think it is very brave of you to wear that dress. Congratulations on coming so far.

Just wondering why the planned induction so early if everything is normal? Is there a particular reason they don't want you to go into labor on your own?

Jen said...

YES! I loved this happy post. You are absolutely glowing in the pics and I love the dress. So glad to hear things are "normal" now. Not too much longer!!!
