Not one, but two of my online friends had their little ones this week, both were just about a week ahead of me, so both were 35 weekers. HUGE congrats to my friend Alison and to Forever Loves on the arrivals of Avery and Chelsea! So far from what I hear both seem to be doing great, and I'm very happy for both of them!
Of course, I can't help but wonder now whether I only have a week left too. Also, there were a lot of parallels with my history and FL's...and her little one arrived not due to preterm labor, but via c/s after a troublesome Non-Stress Test (NST) determined the baby wasn't moving enough. I haven't been getting NSTs. So of course I panicked and called my OB's office to ask whether I can get them weekly going forward, even though I haven't had any REAL movement scares yet - but to my knowledge neither had she. Almost every day I'll get a little scared and think it's been a while, but with water and laying down I'm always able to pass the kick count tests. I still think I'd feel better with weekly NSTs from here on out though for the reassurance that Toodle is in fact not in distress. Nurse said she'll leave a note for the OB to ask her.
Otherwise, my bloodwork from earlier this week came back ok, platelets were just over the "normal" cutoff, so that's some good news.

I keep on wondering how far I can take this too. Good luck!!!
I am glad your platelets are within normal range. Hoping the OB gives the NST tests as requested.
Good luck and I hope the OB approves NSTs for your peace of mind.
For what it's worth, my MFM has all his high risk patients on a weekly NST and a weekly BPP starting at 32 weeks. Certainly was a sanity-propper-upper for me. I hope your OB supports you in this, if only for the sake of sanity. Good luck!
I donèt know what they are - but, hope you get those tests - why not test? Hope that you and toddle are doing well.
Hopefully your OB will approve your wishes for weekly NST's. I know when I had them with Kate it made my anxiety level go down significantly. :)
One of my 35 weekers came home from hospital with me...the other was under the lights and came home at one week. They were small, but healthy.
I hope all is well. You and Toodle will be in thoughts and prayers!
Glad your bloodwork is o.k Lots of luck getting your OBs approval for the NST.
I had weekly NST from 33 weeks and twice weekly from 37 weeks and weekly BBPs from 34 weeks, very reasuring in a high risk pregnancy. I ended up being told I needed to be induced after my last one though baby arrived 4 hours later without induction to my relief.
Glad all is going well. Hope the NST are approved for you.
And I voted for Adam too...shhh! :)
I had a 35 weeker, she was 7 lbs and 2 oz and healthy and just had her first birthday. Good luck
That's weird that they aren't mandartory...I had them starting at 20 weeks and once I got to 32 weeks I had to have one every week. Maybe it was just my condition, but they did say it was routine. But, just because others had problems or early babies, does not mean you will. They are them, and you are you.
You need to take a deep breath and let the worries go. You and toodle are going to do GREAT! As long as he's moving at least twice a day actively you are okay. Babies don't move constantly...they sleep, a lot!
Still, I find it odd that they aren't doing them at least once every two weeks now that you are so far along, especially considering your medical past. Every place is different I guess.
I hope you're able to get weekly NSTs done!!
When I was pregnant with the girls I would always drink a cup of hot chocolate (a tip I read online) if I didn't feel them moving as much as I'd like. It worked EVERY single time - it was a party in there! =)
I'm a long time reader that rarely comments but I wanted to wish you good luck! I can't wait to log on to see that Toodle has made his safe appearance!
