Just got home from the hospital. I had been having headaches all day and by the time DH got home I felt pretty awful plus I was nauseous. I took my BP on our home monitor and my lower number ranged from the high 80's to high 90's so I called and they sent me to L&D.
Turns out our monitor must be busted (it used to work on me and match the OB's office readings but lately I have been getting errors and was surprised it worked at all today), because at L&D my BP was fine and bloodwork showed no signs of pre-e, BUT the monitors showed that I was having contractions every 2-5 minutes (they didn't hurt at all and I don't know that I would even have noticed them at all if I didn't have the monitors on).
Cervix was fine though, and after drinking a lot of water the on call OB (who I spoke to on the phone, I didn't actually see anyone but nurses) gave me the choice of going home and calling back if the contractions got worse or I had any other typical signs of preterm labor or something wrong, or staying over and having my cervix checked again in the morning. Since so far the cervix was ok, there's no pain and I have an appt on Monday I came home....of course I worry about what if made the wrong choice and should have stayed just in case, but I'm paying close attention now at least.

Thinking of you honey. During this time I recommend the use of a compact. I hope that makes sense. Take care and keep us posted.
Oh hon...I'm glad everything is checking out right now but I am so sorry your peace of mind got screwed with.
I'm sorry you had such a rough day, and relieved to hear that you've been sent home as relatively "normal." :) I hope the headaches and nausea clear up tomorrow so that you can go about your weekend with relative ease! xxoo
Things sound so stressful for you at the moment. Fingers crossed you have a relaxing and peaceful weekend.
I remember those trips to L&D well. I went into preterm labor with both my kids- at 30 weeks and 28 weeks. I was dialating with contractions 3-4 minutes apart. I wasn't on strict bedrest either time and didn't get steroid shots. Lots of oral meds and IV meds to stop the contractions. I made it to 35 weeks with my first and 37 weeks on the dot with my second. I won't lie- the last few weeks were not fun but at least my babies were born healthy. It's great that you're not dialating, hopefully you were just a little dehydrated. Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you.
So glad you're back home and doing well!
Sorry I don't get over here as much. I'm sure you understand. But I do think of you often and hope everything is going well.
I'm glad to hear that all is well & that you were able to go home. I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
Sorry to hear about the anxious hours at L&D, but glad to hear that all is well. Take it easy and hope Toodle stays put for a few more weeks.
I am glad you are home. Not that you were not have contractions before you left for LandD, but mine always got worse when I was there. Those belts are so tight I think they made them worse sometimes. I don't think you made the wrong choice, if you continue to feel bad, go back. Hope you have an uneventful few more weeks!!
Take good care, send my best.
Thinking of you Busted. Try to hang in there and just relax and enjoy your weekend. Your so far along now, that even if Toodle did make is appearance a little early, he'd be ok. My dd arrived @ 35 weeks, not even 5 pounds, but healthy as can be. She didn't need anything at birth and she did not have to go to the NICU. The only difference we had is that we had to feed her every 2 hours for a few weeks to get her weight up, so we were a bit sleep deprived, but it was all worth it! I'd probably still go out with DH if it was me, but just be sure to take plenty of breaks and stay hydrated! Let DH really spoil you (Not that he doesn't already!) and take it really easy. I think getting out and having a little fun would do alot for you Busted, you've worked so hard making sure Toodle arrives healthy and you deserve a break!
So glad to hear that you are at home and resting, hospitals can be very stressful! Hoping things continue to go well.
xoxo
I hope you are feeling better today and that you could do "normal" things. But of course you can only do what feels comfortable.
I think contractions at 34 weeks, esp with a "short uterus" is pretty normal, and doesn't signal that hard labor is around the corner. My friend, on her third child, had labor contractions starting at 20 weeks. She ended up delvering 2 days after her due date.
Glad you went in though, and found everything to be good. You're close to 34 weeks! That's another developmental milestone, not to mention a mere 3 weeks away from your estimated induction date. Hopefully you can breath easier a bit.
What a rough day! Glad all is going well and that your DH is so sweet and supportive. Hope you're able to rest your body and mind this weekend.
Glad that everything is ok. He just wants to see his mommy and daddy sooner :) Do you blame him? *Sorry Toodle, you must bake a little long*
Hope whatever you do this weekend you have some fun and keep your mind off thing.
Dear Busted,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been following your story for quite a while. I often think of the Doodles and Toodle, and I hope that Toodle remains safe and sound. Thank-you for sharing your story with the world.
Ugh, just so sorry you had to deal with this! Glad everything turned out fine for now, although I'm sure it's on your mind. . . hope you're able to have a restful day and enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
